The power amplifier is an integral part of the electromagnetic bearing electronic control system. Its function is to amplify or convert the control signal into a signal with sufficient energy to drive the load-the electromagnet actuator. The electromagnetic bearing system is composed of the electromagnetic bearing body/displacement sensor, controller and power amplifier. The displacement sensor detects the position status of the suspended rotor and feeds back the position information to the controller. The controller generates corresponding control signals according to different control laws, and then converts the control signals into control voltage or control current through the power amplifier, which acts on the electromagnetic The bearing coil generates the electromagnetic force needed to suspend the rotor, so that the rotor can reach a stable suspension.

Power amplifiers can be used to drive capacitive and inductive loads, piezoelectric ceramics, magnetic field coils, and ultrasonic transducers. Generally, if AC power is used to drive a load containing capacitors or inductive coils, it will cause a reverse current from the load side . In this case, it may not be able to drive with a normal power supply. However, if a power amplifier is used for driving, the required high voltage and large current can also be achieved.
