Application of cable tester in electric vehicle wiring harness test

With the rapid development of China's high-speed rail industry, there is a steady stream of demand for high-speed EMUs. Among them, the wiring layout and testing of the EMU is a very important link. There are many wiring harnesses in the EMU layout, various circuits are crossed, and the connectors and terminals are complex and diverse, all of which bring difficulties to the conduction test of the wiring harness of the EMU. The traditional wire harness conduction test relies on manual labor, and the use of the buzzer to conduct the conduction test results in low work efficiency, and human factors are prone to cause construction quality problems. The use of a comprehensive cable tester to test the continuity of the electric vehicle group harness can greatly improve the degree of production automation and test accuracy.

The cable test system is composed of a computer, a harness tester device host, a transfer cable, a transfer tool, a printer, etc.; the test principle of the cable tester: the harness continuity test uses an automatic cable test system, based on the actual vehicle being tested The cable condition edits the test program, and realizes the test and inspection of the vehicle harness and cable through the transfer cable and the transfer tooling fixture.

The working principle of the cable test system is: the cable tester applies excitation to the cable to be tested, which can accurately test the on-resistance and on-current of the cable to quantitatively analyze the overall connection status of the cable. Further, by accurately measuring the leakage current between any two cores in the cable under different voltages, the insulation condition inside the cable is analyzed. The correct cable connection topology is automatically generated through the self-learning function and recorded as a test standard. Automatically compare the measurement results with the test standard, analyze the cable connection status and give an analysis report.

Harness testing is to test the wiring components and insulation wrapping materials connected to various electrical equipment in the circuit to find possible problems. Generally, it is necessary to measure the continuity, insulation, voltage resistance, and resistance of the wiring harness. Common faults are: Short circuit, open circuit, missing connection, miswiring, poor contact, and failure of the overall insulation withstand voltage of the conductor. The ATX-3000 cable tester uses the two-wire method; the ATX-3000S cable tester uses the four-wire method.
